About the Role
At Marco is looking for a Brand Strategist who can think big but stay grounded in clarity, messaging, and emotional resonance. This role is for someone who can help businesses uncover their voice, define their positioning, and develop narratives that connect deeply with their audience. You’ll help turn our clients’ “what” into a powerful “why” that moves people.
You must have experience guiding clients through brand discovery and developing strategy documents that influence naming, messaging, visual direction, and campaign tone. Ideal candidates are equal parts storyteller, researcher, and brand therapist.
What You’ll Do
- Lead brand discovery sessions and client interviews to extract key insights
- Conduct competitor and market research to identify positioning opportunities
- Develop brand platforms including purpose, vision, mission, and values
- Craft brand positioning, messaging hierarchies, and tone of voice guidelines
- Collaborate with our creative and design teams to translate strategy into content and visuals
- Support naming, taglines, campaign messaging, and website content direction
- Deliver strategy decks and brand documents that are clear, compelling, and actionable
- Contribute to internal brand development projects as needed
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in brand strategy, copywriting, or creative direction (agency or client-side)
- A portfolio of strategic work that showcases clarity, originality, and emotional intelligence
- Deep understanding of brand positioning, messaging architecture, and audience insights
- Ability to lead conversations, ask the right questions, and draw out brand truth
- Excellent writing skills—particularly in voice development and messaging frameworks
- Highly collaborative, organized, and confident presenting to clients
- Bonus if you’ve worked with purpose-driven or early-stage brands
Bonus if You Have
- Experience developing strategic naming and taglines
- Background in journalism, copywriting, or editorial storytelling
- Familiarity with creative tools (Notion, Figma, Miro, Google Slides, etc.)
- Strategic campaign experience or go-to-market planning
